About the Project

The Babb Family Playground and Splashpad Project in Baysville is part of the Township of Lake of Bays' commitment to enhancing community spaces. This initiative aims to provide a modern, inclusive, and accessible recreational area for residents and visitors of all ages.

The playground will feature engaging equipment for children of all age groups, while the splashpad will offer a safe, interactive space to cool off and play. Beautification efforts, including landscaping and additional amenities, will create a welcoming environment for families to enjoy year-round.

Recent Changes to Splashpad Water Management

Following recent input from community members, the Township is changing how the splash pad water is managed. We are implementing a water recirculation system for the Babb Family Splash Pad. While the original design already met all Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) standards for water intake, treatment, and disposal, the Township has chosen to go above and beyond by reusing the water, and using reclaimed water for the future irrigation of the park’s landscaping and supporting the fire department with pumper truck training.

  • Making a Splash: A Legacy of Giving

This splash pad is made possible largely through the generosity of the family of Hager and Edna Babb in recognition of the importance this community held in their lives. Their gift is meant to inspire future generations to embrace the joys of living in Lake of Bays.
