About the Project

The Township is reviewing a new Clean Yards By-law. While there were some minor changes, the yard maintenance regulations in this document are not new; they have been in place since 2018 within the Property Standards By-law 2018‑054. As part of a housekeeping update, these regulations are being moved into a standalone by-law. After hearing concerns from the public and from Council at the March 10 Council meeting about the existing regulations, the Township is reopening the process to give residents another opportunity to review the rules and share feedback on maintaining properties in good condition and preventing yards from falling into neglect.

What’s Happening Now

A helpful FAQ and a revised draft of the Clean Yards By-law are now available for public review. This updated version reflects public comments that were officially submitted, along with concerns raised by Council during the March 10 meeting. It includes clearer wording, improved definitions, and several technical corrections. Residents are invited to review the new draft by-law, which shows the changes following the March 10 meeting. Updates are highlighted and struck through. Residents can share their feedback before Council considers the by-law again on April 14, 2026.
