Construction is well underway on the Dwight Library Expansion and Community Centre Upgrades, and Phase 1 is showing exciting progress!

Crews are pouring the footings for the new addition, marking a major step forward in the transformation of the site. With the foundation being put into place, the scale of the expansion is becoming clear as seen through the images below. The new footprint stretches across the west end of the building, setting the stage for a modern, accessible hub that will serve the community for years to come.

Phase 1 includes:

• Footings, exterior walls, and roof tie-ins for the expansion
• Renovations to the existing washrooms

Despite cold weather conditions, work is moving steadily. Safety fencing is in place, and a temporary one-way traffic setup continues at 1014 Dwight Beach Road.

Expanding parking:
Additionally, crews are making good progress with a new parking area being constructed on the north side of 1012 Dwight Beach Road. This will help offset some of the parking reduction from the expansion project.
